Participation in this study involves an in-depth interview with the primary investigator, Jay Sorensen. Interviews last between 45 and 90 minutes and you can end your participation at any time. Interviews can be conducted in person if you are in the state of Iowa, in Chicago, or Jay as travelled to your area for this project (follow this study on Instagram and Twitter for specific information about travel plans). Interviews can also be conducted via Zoom or over the phone.
In an interview, you will be asked questions related to your experience as a drag queen or femme drag performer. You are not obligated to answer all questions and may refuse to do so if you don’t want to share specific information. Identifying information will be redacted and a pseudonym (fake name) will be used in place of your real name. Eligible participants will be compensated $20 in the form of a digital VISA gift card for the time and labor in aiding this project.
